Privacy Policy

ClaudeWatermarks is designed to inspect pasted text and selected files in your browser. The free text and C2PA tools do not upload their input to our servers, create a user gallery, or silently retain it. The one exception is the paid text rewriter, which has to send the text you submit to a model provider; it is described in its own section below.

Information processed locally

Text, clipboard HTML, and files selected for Content Credentials checks stay in the active browser tab. The browser may request clipboard permission only after you click the rich-clipboard button.

The text rewriter is the one exception

The paid rewriter at /claude-text-rewriter cannot run in your browser, because rewriting a passage requires a language model. When you sign in and submit text there, that text is sent to a third-party model provider on our behalf so it can be regenerated, and the result is returned to you. The page states this above the input field before you type anything.

We do not store the text you submit or the rewrite that comes back; we record only that a rewrite ran, its character count, and the credits it cost, which is what the credit ledger and your billing history need. The model provider processes the text under its own terms and retention policy, which we do not control. Do not paste confidential, personal, or client material into the rewriter. Every other tool on this site remains browser-only.

Account and payment information

If account or paid features are enabled, we may store the minimum data needed for authentication, security, billing status, credit balances, and transaction records. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored directly by ClaudeWatermarks.

Operational data

Hosting and security providers may process ordinary request metadata, such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and error logs. We use it to secure and operate the service, not to reconstruct locally inspected text or files.

Third parties and retention

We disclose data only to service providers needed to operate the site, comply with law, or protect users and the service. Account, billing, and security records are retained only as long as needed for those purposes and applicable legal obligations.

Your choices

You can use the public local tools without an account. Where account features are available, you may update or delete your account through settings, subject to records we must retain for legal or fraud-prevention reasons.
